Adorable Milk Bath Session for Birthday Girl, Paisley!

Have you ever thought about doing something special for your baby's first birthday? Maybe you've heard about cake smashes, the trend where you base an entire photoshoot around a baby destroying their first cake and capturing all of the mess that ensues with funny and adorable images. 

Not your slice of cake? Maybe your baby is food sensitive or has allergies? 

Perhaps you would consider something just as adorable: A milk bath session might be the perfect fit for you and your baby!

Sweet baby Paisley celebrated her big NUMERO UNO birthday with me in the studio with this adorably simple and beautiful milk bath session. I had captured her older sister, Louisa's,  newborn pictures a few years back, as well as a milk bath, and it was so wonderful to have them all in my studio again. This time with little Paisley being the star of the show! 

These little girls are so sweet. It's a huge honour for me to photograph them. I know their Mom & Dad from back in High School (doesn't feel that long ago, and yet here we are...) I love that I get to see old friends and capture precious memories of their little ones with them. I was happy to get a couple of photos of their girls together. Mom was a little unsure of whether or not Louise would agree to have her photo taken. It took a bit of playing-pretend and 'Simon Says', but I was happy to have been able to get a couple of shots. 

Paisley looks so much like her Daddy, I couldn't believe it. I must have said it at least 5 times during the session. She had the biggest grins and loved splashing around in her milk bath. I had purchased a new bathtub specifically for her session and I adore how it turned out. I love the simplicity of this session, but how all of the details of the flowers and the droplets of the milk stand out in the pictures (along with Paisley's adorable, big grins, of course!) 

Milk baths are such a wonderfully simple idea that are beautiful and lots of fun for babies. They are familiar with and often enjoy bath time, so this is a great option for babies who may be shy towards new things or sensitive towards certain foods. Paisley had so much fun during her session! The only time that she cried was when it was time to go home!
