Ahh, the good ol' "Family Photo Day"! Some of us are religious with it, having them done every year. Others maybe every other year. But for a lot of us, it becomes a grand occasion when they finally decide to update those family portraits in a big way. I think there comes a time when we realize we want to have memories to hold onto and enjoy in a tangible way, like flipping the pages of a book or walking by a beautiful piece of art on the wall. Something a little less temporary than digital files. 

I had the pleasure of working with this WONDERFUL family! Gosh, did we ever have a blast! The moment Mom said, "I just want something MORE than digital files" I knew that we were meant to be and that I would be able to deliver EXACTLY what she was looking for and blow her away with what I had to offer. 

It was a bit of a crazy morning on the day of our session. The weather had been cold, and the morning of our session day had surprised us all with a bunch of snow! We had a quick chit chat, looked at the (unpromising) forecast and decided to stick with our plans for the day. 

I AM SO GLAD WE DID! The weather warmed up, the snow melted and - minus a bit of muddy muck - the session was absolutely AMAZING. The sunset was breathtaking, and all the animals in the forest seemed to be out and about that evening as they crammed their last calories in before calling it quits for the year. We saw tons of friendly little nuthatches and woodpeckers, deer that weren't too afraid of us at all, and even a beaver! I have never seen a beaver in the wild before, so that was a first for me. 

Little Bruno is the family pet and gosh, is he ever the baby of the family! Such a cute little guy, too. I was happy that they brought him along to their Family Session - ALL family members are welcome! 

I am so thankful that I had the pleasure and opportunity to work with this family. Their session turned out gorgeous, and we indeed created something absolutely beautiful for them that I'm sure they are bound to enjoy for years upon years to come!!!
