Calgary Newborn Photographer • Mila's Studio Newborn Session
Newborn Baby Photography in Calgary, Alberta
It means a ton to me when my own family members recommend me to their friends for Newborn Photography. This little munchkin was born the very day her Mom has booked her Newborn Session - talk about perfect timing!
Mom and Dad had a rough night with baby Mila right before the session and were a little worried about how their baby girl would cooperate for her photos. They were amazed at how I was able to gently coax their little one into all sorts of different poses.
It's common for parents to wonder if their baby will do well for their Newborn Session. Rest assured, I have never had to reshoot a session due to an unsettled or "uncooperative" baby. Most of the time it simply requires understanding what baby is saying and reading baby's body language to 'convince' them into different poses. It requires a lot of patience and slow movements, but we eventually get there. The results are always worth the time and effort!
But, baby Mila was a dream baby. She wasn't uncooperative in the least. Maybe it was the fact she kept her parents up the whole night prior, or the warmth of the studio with the white noises and Enya music playing in the background, ha. But she did great, and we were able to put together a beautiful gallery for her parents to enjoy.
At 15 days old, Mila was the perfect age for her newborn session. Her feeding schedule was pretty set, and it was easy to get her fed and back to business.
Despite the sleep deprivation, Mom and Dad made themselves at home in my studio on the loveseat, enjoying the coffee I had ordered beforehand for them so that they could relax and take a bit of time off. They oogled over the different poses that I did with their baby girl and said on numerous occasions, "I had no idea you could pose a baby like that and not even wake them up!"
When I finished up with Mila's solo photos, I said it was time for the family photos. "Oh no!" They said. "We just want to make it about her!"
I gently convinced them to get into the frame for at least a couple of photos with their baby. "If you don't love them, you don't need to choose them. But we may as well try for a couple since we are here, I promise you won't regret it!"
I am so happy that they pushed past their hesitance and decided to go for it. They ended up loving their family photos and now have a beautiful first family photo to enjoy (and ended up gifting to grandparents!) as well as perfect keepsakes that show just how tiny their little girl once fit into their arms.
As always, it is such a beautiful treat to work with such wonderful people. I enjoyed the quiet chit-chat in the studio with this couple as we went about the session and I appreciate them taking the effort and putting their trust in me to capture beautiful memories for them to cherish.
And I am thankful for my friends and family who speak good words about me and my business - it truly means the world to me, and I am forever thankful and appreciate the recommendations. Thank you so much.
Happy Thanksgiving!
