N + B Studio Maternity Session

Studio Maternity Sessions are continuing to grow in popularity, especially during the winter months when the cold weather can be avoided and families can enjoy the comfort of my warm studio and have access to all of my beautiful gowns and props for their maternity shoots.

I absolutely loved working with this beautiful family. Soon-to-be Big Brother had such big and wonderful smiles for the whole shoot! Making children comfortable in my studio is one of the first and most important steps when families arrive. I love setting a positive tone for the session. Letting them express themselves and capturing those genuine expressions is what brings the biggest smiles to parents' faces when they get to see their galleries for the first time!

Mom is in the spotlight during maternity sessions, but I always welcome and encourage the rest of the family to get involved in the session. A maternity session is not only an opportunity to be empowered as a woman and to have a Mom feel good about herself even while pregnant. But, as a Mom, I also know how much her family means to her. Including those special portraits for her to look back on is important to her, and it's important to me, too!

I couldn't wait to meet their baby girl, who was due to make her entry into the world soon after we shot the session. Photographing this precious milestone in their lives and hearing them swoon over their gallery made my heart so happy. That is always the goal in all of my sessions! 

To say that I am in love with this gallery would be an understatement; they are such a beautiful family and we created some truly beautiful memories in my Calgary studio!
