Maternity Session for S + C • Bump To Baby Session
Maternity & Newborn Photography in Airdrie & Calgary, Alberta
Maternity Sessions are a very special day when a Mother-to-be gets all dolled up and we make the day all about making her FEEL as amazing as she looks! One of my favourite parts about these maternity sessions is watching these beautiful women step into their power and transform once they step into a gown and see themselves in the mirror for the first time after their hair and makeup are done!
This was a maternity session that meant a lot to this couple! After years of trying, finally, they were blessed with a little baby boy, on his way to making their worlds a whole lot sweeter!
After getting to know this couple during their video consultation, I was able to understand what they wanted to see in their gallery and I couldn't wait for session day. I wanted to make everything feel extra special for them because I knew just how special this was for them!
It was a cold and very snowy day on the day of the session. We shot most of the session in my studio, but we had made it a part of the plan to pop outside for some photos and I am so glad we did!
Even though it was snowing and quite chilly, it was absolutely beautiful! It was the perfect wrap-up to this beautiful session, and also a wonderful wrap-up to my Sherwood NW studio before moving to Airdrie. This was the last session I shot there, just days before my big move.
Mama looked absolutely stunning for her session! I couldn't get enough of her. Her gallery turned out beautiful and they picked such a great variety of images to cherish for years to come!
When Should I Book My Maternity Session?
If you are in your second trimester, it is the perfect time to book! The sooner the better. The best time to capture your maternity photos is while you are between 28 to 34 weeks along in your pregnancy, while you have a nice round bump but aren't uncomfortable. I only book a few sessions per month in order to accommodate last-minute changes in case of unforeseen situations that may need an adjustment in scheduling.
