Baby Boy "L" & His Professional Studio Newborn Session

This newborn session followed after a gorgeous Winter Maternity Session in NW Calgary, which was actually the very last session I shot at my NW Calgary studio before moving to my current Airdrie, Alberta Studio location. 

My studio was completely unfinished upon move-in, and I had a full schedule of sessions rapidly approaching! Everything else seemed to be paused while my family and I worked around the clock to pull together the new and permanent home of Hocus Focus Photography. 

6 weeks later, I had the honour and privilege of welcoming this precious baby boy, the FIRST newborn in this studio, for his newborn session! It was a beautiful session and a wonderful way to break the new studio in. 

Baby L loved being wrapped and was perfectly content as long as he was covered and not exposed, and he loved to snuggle so I definitely got my baby fix! 

He slept while he was wrapped, but he decide shortly after that he wanted to know exactly what was going on for the rest of the session so I had those adorable little eyes watching every move I made. Complete with several side-eyes, smirks, smiles and grimaces this little dude pulled together an impressively expressive gallery! It turned out to be a huge hit for family members back home. 

One special setup that Mom requested was a traditional style set with a peacock feather. I love when parents share these special requests with me so that I can create something unique and special just for them! We also did an adorable little work-space setup with a mini MacBook and Starbucks coffee (which may or may not be an accurate representation of how I 'edit' from time to time - haha!)

I absolutely loved this session, and I loved watching Mom and Dad's faces light up when they saw their gallery for the first time. Seeing their final artwork pieces proudly hanging in their home still makes me so happy after all the planning and hard work that went into creating these beautiful keepsakes for them. I know that they will cherish these images and their heirlooms for many, many years to come! 

To the parents: THANK YOU for trusting me with your precious baby boy. I know how long you wished for this and your baby boy is the perfect fit for you. Your patience paid off, and now you have a beautiful family. Thank you for trusting me with your baby, your experience, and your memories. I hope to see you again soon! Much love!
