Baby Boy, Dawson & His Darn Tootin' Adorable Newborn Session!
NW Calgary Family, Maternity & Newborn Photographer
His Mama absolutely slayed her Maternity Session, and a few weeks later this adorable little man came in and knocked his Newborn Session right out of the park!
Meet little Dawson, the most darn tootin' cutie y'all ever did see in these here parts, and I am obsessed with him.
Mom & Dad headed down from somewhere in and around the Edmonton area to give me the honour and pleasure of photographing (and snuggling) their newest little farmhand. And boy, was he a sweetie!
Apart from farming, Dad is also a firefighter. Dawson fit perfectly in a fire-fighter helmet that Dad brought along. It was adorable to see him sleeping soundly on the rim of the hat while Dad held him safely in place for a few shots.
One of the hardest parts about running a business - or, life in general, really - is making sure not to compare yourself to others. I find myself going up and down on this roller coaster ride often. The best way I climb out of this trap is to put my "blinkers" on and re-focus on my goals, my work, and my way of doing things that work for me. Sometimes it's a game of finding what works and what doesn't. Sometimes what works for me isn't what worked for someone else, and what worked for someone else doesn't work for me. And that's okay! When I do this, I find myself happier and more satisfied with my work (which reflects in my clients, as well - win-win!)
This even extends into parenthood. There are so many ways to do different things.. is what I'm doing the right way? Here's your big, fat reminder that there is no one way to raise a child. What works for someone else may not work for you, and what works for you may not work for someone else. As long as your doing your best, you're doing it right. Sometimes doing your best is doing nothing at all - guilt-free.
From one Mom who's not always sure what she's doing to you: YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB!
Welcome to the world, little Dawson. You are very loved!
When Should You Book Your Session?
I recommend booking your newborn session in advance, as soon as it is convenient for you. If you are in your second trimester, it is the perfect time to book.
I only book a small number of newborns per month. These spots often fill quickly, and I cannot guarantee any last-minute openings. Once booked, you are guaranteed priority dates for when your baby arrives, regardless of if your baby arrives early, on time, or late.
My session fee to book is $300 for Newborn Session (or $500 for Bump To Baby Plans with Maternity & Newborn Sessions). Products & digital images are purchased separately from the session fee, with customizable package options that allow my clients to take home exactly what they love from their sessions and turn their most precious memories into perfect portrait art.
