Calgary Newborn Photographer • Baby Girl Kacey's Studio Newborn Session
Where do I even begin with this sweet baby girl? When I first saw that full head of hair, sleeping soundly in her little car seat, I was instantly in love. She was the perfect size with chubby little thighs and scrumptious little cheeks - she was beautiful!
I was so happy for Mom & Dad, and I could tell by the proud smiles on their face that they were, not surprisingly, absolutely smitten by her, as well.
Becoming parents for the first time is a transformation unlike any other. I remember being nervous before having my first baby. I think I even went through a period of mourning. Once you are a Mom, you will always be a Mom. Saying goodbye to the girl I was as my due date approached was simultaneously excited and terrifying, happy and sad, all at the same time. I didn't know how to sort those emotions. But I do know that I mourned.
I say this because it's perfectly normal to feel this way if you are expecting your first child. In fact, it's normal to feel this way even as you go through that "fourth trimester" when your baby is already here. Not everyone goes through this, but I know that I did. My baby was here. I knew that I loved her. But I still found myself worried - would I miss my life before her? Would I be a good and unselfish Mom? Oh, the worries.
Three kids and almost 10 years later, I can confidently say that I can't imagine my life without my girls. Of course, Motherhood demands the absolute most and will push you to your absolute limits. But Motherhood does this weird thing where you count down the minutes until bedtime, only to miss your kids once they drift off to sleep. It makes you want to take a vacation away from your kids while wanting to take your kids with you on your vacation. It makes you excited to watch them grow into adults, whilst wanting to grasp on to every "little kid" moment at the same time. Motherhood is beautiful, Motherhood is hard, and Motherhood is... well. I guess there are so many emotions tied to the word that makes it difficult to entirely describe. It's one of those "If You Know, You Know" hashtag words.
But, back to the session, little Kacey was an absolute dream to work with and capturing those precious family images and watching Mom & Dad beam over their newest little family member were moments that I was so happy to capture for them. Their eyes (and mine) were filled with tears as we went through the images at the Ordering Appointment. We put together a gorgeous package with wall art, an album, and beautiful images from both their Maternity & Newborn Sessions and now Mom & Dad can forever treasure these memorable and very precious times when little Kacey fit perfectly in the crooks of their arms. <3
If you've made it this far, thank you for stopping by the blog! I appreciate your interest and, if we have yet to work together, I would love to chat with you about booking your own session with me and enjoying an experience you'll never forget!
When Should You Book Your Newborn Session?
I recommend booking your newborn session in advance, as soon as it is convenient for you. If you are in your second trimester, it is the perfect time to book.
I only book a small number of newborns per month. These spots often fill quickly, and I cannot guarantee any last-minute openings. Once booked, you are guaranteed priority dates for when your baby arrives, regardless of if your baby arrives early, on-time, or late.
I have already started booking due dates for Spring 2023. Do not hesitate to reach out to the studio to book your sessions today!
