We have had such a beautiful year in regards to weather; being Calgary born-and-raised, I am familiar with the drastic and unpredictable weather that we can have at any given time in the year. This year was so pleasant, and probably one of the hottest summers that I have ever experienced while living here. 

With the gorgeous weather came beautiful sessions and this late summer maternity session was no exception - the weather was gorgeous, Mom was absolutely stunning, and her little daughter is the sweetest little human. I had so much fun playing with her and keeping her occupied while Mom got changed and ready for the session.

I loved that Mom could relax and enjoy being pampered while her daughter and I were able to play and get to know each other a little bit. It ended up working out perfectly, since, by the time we had our newborn session, little Nyla was already familiar with who I was and had no troubles cooperating for their sibling photos (they are the cutest - I can't wait to share the newborn session!)

This year was a big year for me in regards to upgrading some of my gear, which includes my new baby: a 200mm F2 lens. This was one of the first sessions I shot with it, and I am so incredibly happy with this lens. Investing in top-of-the-line gear is important to me and my business, and when it comes to creating high-quality portraits for my clients. 

On top of photography gear, some special attention was put into my Maternity Gown closet, where I now have over 50+ maternity gowns for my clients to browse and choose which items they'd like to wear for their sessions. I have a variety of different colours, styles and fits so I know that I have something for every Mama who comes into my studio. 

Making my clients' as easy and enjoyable as possible is a major priority of mine. Knowing that my clients are well taken care of is of the utmost importance and it brings me much joy and happiness knowing that their needs are taken care of without them having to add little things to their to-do lists (because, as moms, we have enough on that list as it is!)
