It made my heart flutter with joy to see a Mama so excited to receive a newborn session from me for Christmas. It's definitely humbling and a huge privilege when you can feel the excitement practically dripping from the back-and-forth messages as we put together the date for a brand new baby girl's session. 

And how absolutely perfect little Amaya was! A tiny little bean who showed up wide awake and as curious as can be, but after some convincing snuggles settled down into a deep sleep for an adorable session that had me blitzing to my computer to edit the moment Taleea and her precious baby girl walked out the door after the session. 

It's funny how the world can seem so small - Taleea's mom was actually a my very own mother's best friend back when my sister and I were in diapers. We giggled and chatted over the funny baby pictures of myself that grandma of Amaya, Heather, had of me. To think that one day I'd be the photographer for her own little grand daughter! 

During the session, Heather and Taleea mentioned how throughout the pregnancy, butterflies seemed to overtake Taleea's life in a way that seemed beyond coincidence. Even the nurse who tended to Mom and baby had a butterfly on her name tag! There are many symbolic reasons as to why a person may see butterflies in their life; whatever they may be, I'm sure it is a symbol of love and a wonderful transition into a new and very fulfilling life for this wonderful family. I had to take this idea and run with it, especially with a baby so beautiful and dainty as Amaya, the theme just suit her so perfectly! I'm SO excited with the final results from this beautiful session and I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do! 

And now, I present to you the official grand debut of sweet baby Amaya at 9 days fresh, and as perfect as can be!
