For every photographer, there is a "first", and the most special first is the very first. This blog post is dedicated to my very first newborn and, in fact, very first session ever under Hocus Focus Photography, and celebrating a second little baby to have joined a family that holds this special place in the Hocus Focus Photography milestone book.
Almost 3 years ago, a couple of my friends had a tiny little baby. Sweet little James. And, as mentioned, he was the first little baby ever photographed as a "Hocus Focus" newborn. So, of course it was a given that I just had to do a little something for their second baby boy, Lucas, and celebrate James' promotion to big brother and give a bit of a thanks for the amazing journey that resulted of that "once upon a time" newborn session, held in a living room some 3 years ago. I didn't expect I'd be doing this today - at least not as full-forced as I am, as a full time job that I am ultimately head-over-heals in love for and continue to enjoy day in, and day out.
Since the launch of Hocus Focus Photography in 2015, I have met so many beautiful families, I've snuggled many babies (I even had one of my own, adding to my own family!) and have grown in both skill and knowledge that I am ultimately and admittedly so proud to stand by and am so honoured and flattered to be recommended by so many, and to have the ability to share this happiness and joy in giving precious memories to all of these wonderful families. This is truly my calling in life, and in a big way, I have little James to thank for helping me find that joy and passion I hold so near and dear to my heart.
So, it was with great joy that I photographed baby Lucas, and welcomed him into the Hocus Focus Photography family. I just had to meet this brand new little bean, and it was a fun time. I even got my own family members to get a little taste of what I do, and had the daddy of my own kids assist me with a couple of shots!
This time around, I was sure to get a couple of shots of Mama, Angel, with her baby boy. Because, as I noticed on her own Facebook page, she is always taking pictures of her sweet baby boys, and has a selfie with them from time to time. But I wanted to give her a photograph that she can treasure for years to come. Her sweet baby boy, snuggled up in her arms. Not only for her, but for when Lucas is grown (as we know little ones eventually and ever so quickly do) and wants to see what his mama looked like when he was a tiny little newborn.
Congratulations, Angel and Cody, on your second little boy. I'm sure he and James will get into lots of trouble together! But, they will also brings you lots of joy and many laughs for years to come. Great job, you two. You're doing awesome!
