FIRST COMES LOVE...
THEN COMES MARRIAGE...
THEN COMES THE BABY...
THEN THE BABY TURNS ONE!
It's one thing to have a client who chooses you to document not one special event in their lives... but several! It means so much more when those clients are FAMILY, and wholeheartedly love and support you... and choose you over and over again as the years go by. As their own family has grown, so has my business. And their loyalty has meant so much to me... probably more than they know!
(And before some of you get too excited... no, I don't shoot weddings. This was a rare occasion, and while I enjoyed the experience I've decided to stick to what I love the most!)
Gettin' Artsy
I wanted to do something extra different and beautiful for Wesley's cake smash.
If you scroll to the top of this blog, you'll notice that Mom & Dad had their engagement photos done in Canmore with the Three Sisters peaks towering in the background.
Mom had requested a simple but "outdoorsy" set up for her son's smash, and the idea struck me in the middle of the night! I was going to reference the Three Sister's peaks in the background of Wesley's cake smash. And the next day, I set out to gather supplies to hand-paint Wesley's very own custom backdrop piece for his session!
I had Bob Ross's voice in my head as I fumbled about playing with paint (it was a lot more fun that I thought it'd be, if I'm being honest!) and the results ended up being absolutely perfect and a cute little tribute as to how this little dude came into existence!
Wesley is a stoic little dude on a day to day basis; in all honesty, I wasn't sure what kind of expressions or reactions we were going to get that day. But, lucky for me, Wes seemed to be down to get messy AND toss a huge variety of expressions (including the odd smile!) at the camera. He had us all giggling at his silly little antics; it took a bit of tickling and some (loud) singing to break his concentration from the cake every now and again. But, along with the rest of us, he had a great time and his cake smash was a great success!
Isn't he one of the most handsome little boys you've ever seen?? Good golly, I can't get over him!
I am honestly so humbled and extremely flattered to have watched this family form and grow over the last couple years; and sure, they're a part of my family, too. Even so, to me, it speaks volumes that they continually support my business and trust me to capture the BIGGEST milestones in their lives, and I am truly thankful for them. Thank you!!!
Happy Birthday, little Wesley! You are part of a wonderful family who loves you and adores watching you grow every day! I can't wait to see what adventures lie ahead for you and the rest of your family! See you next time!
