Parenthood suits this couple so perfectly, it was entirely meant to be. Cyrene and Clayton were anxiously awaiting the arrival of their baby boy back in May 2018, when we first met for a beautiful mountain maternity session in the breathtaking landscapes of Canmore.

Fast forward to the arrival of their sweet baby boy, where they excitedly became parents to a wonderful little Aurel (Aur-EHL, not "oral"!)

A rainbow baby is a baby born after a loss, and this is a little one of such. Aurel's beginning was eagerly sought after, and we honour the journey with acknowledgement of the storms that were endured for this precious baby boy. But to see the joy on Cyrene's face as she snuggled her handsome baby boy, and to witness Clayton fall into the role of Dedicated Father was a sight to behold and brought a happy quiver to my heartbeat. 

Introducing Mr. Chubby Cheeks, a handsome little chunk who filled my lap with squish, my lips with a smile, and my heart with love. Finally meeting this special little human had me jittering with excitement and anxiously awaiting the sound of the doorbell while I waited in the studio for Cyrene & Clayton to arrive with their bundle of great joy!

Mom & Dad brought a few items that meant something to them, and I was happy to incorporate as much as I could for them, as I know how special and important this truly was for them! I always appreciate when Mom & Dad give me a heads up in advance as to what kind of photos and props they'd like to include in their sessions. It definitely makes it easier to have a game plan in place for the day of our session.

Luckily, Aurel was a happy little guy as long as he was burped and fed, so we were able to get pretty well all of the shots we needed within our session (we went a little bit over our time, and the room was ridiculously hot. But we finally did it!) He was definitely the boss, but he was generally able to be coaxed into the poses we needed to put together a beautiful gallery.

Mom loves elephants, and Did is an avid chess fan. So we did a couple shots to capture those little keepsakes (how perfect is the little nerd onesie, haha! I love it)

A quilt made with love from a grandparent; I always love an adorable quilt, especially a handmade one! 

And, of course, a couple of adorable stuffies (a bunny and a koala) that each held significant meaning toward their chubby baby boy. 

At the end of the day, it was a perfect session. I adore how beautiful Cyrene looks in her mommy/baby portraits; she's just absolutely glowing! Both of them exude joy and love for their newest family member. 

I can't wait to see this chubby-licious little man again for his cake smash when he turns Numero Uno!
