A couple years ago, I met a lovely little family at Nose Hill Park for a darling little family session where I met the most gorgeous children with amazing eyes. Her son sported the most stunning blue eyes, and I've forever referred to him as "the boy with eyes like galaxies".
We met again a few months later for a cake smash session with her bright-eyed boy, and from then on I continually saw mom's name liking my Facebook posts and commenting away on the latest photograph shared.
I was so excited when I saw her name pop up in my email inbox, under the category of "newborn"! Hoorah! Another gorgeous little one for this perfect little family! I was so honoured and excited to book them in for a newborn and can't wait for later on for a cake smash that is bound to be full of thunder thighs and rolie-polie deliciousness.
Lennon is a chunky, beautiful baby boy who had me giggling over his rolls and squirming over the squish in his expressions and poses. What a perfect little chunk of a brand new little human! And he slept so amazingly well throughout the hours we had together; I find the chunkiest babies sleep the soundest. It must take a lot of energy to open your eyes under a brow-roll, so why even bother when you can just snooze the day away. GOSH! I absolutely la-la-love it!
Can I take a moment to mention how absolutely hilarious I find it that things such as thigh and back rolls, and little dimply butt-cheeks are completely adorable and aww-worthy on babies (and only babies, it seems?) *insert laughing emoji here*
Amidst the endless questions from big brother, asking about why I had an umbrella in the studio and how much I had a giant beanbag in the corner, we scored a ton of gorgeous portraits of the two proud older siblings with their newest little treasure and future trouble-maker. They were SO well behaved and cooperated so beautifully, I could have spent hours upon hours more with them. But once they were done, off they scooted for some adventure elsewhere with Dad, while Mom and I finished up the task at hand in the studio.
I want this baby boy for my very own, he is so precious. I just love me some chunky baby rolls. And although I can't wait for our cake smash session a year from now, I also know how short this newborn stage truly is. So Momma.. soak in all the baby goodness now. That new baby smell, the tiny toes and squishy face. I know with 3 kiddos it's hard to find the time to delve into that precious time as you did with your first. But enjoy every single moment you get and in a year's time, I will see you all again for some birthday fun and cakey-giggles galore!
When life gives you Lennon... :)
