I had a streak of super sleepy babies throughout the month of May, which definitely had my confidence up as a "Professional Baby Whisperer"! There's nothing like knowing you've got a solid gallery of images from a session that you just can't wait to share with a family, especially when their baby is as adorable as little Tiyaan is!
A third baby boy was welcomed into the loving and excited arms of this beautiful family, and their joy was so blatantly obvious as we settled into the studio and got down to work getting little "Tiger" ready for his very first photo-sesh! Tiyaan was nicknamed "Tiger" for the first couple days of his life while Mom & Dad looked for the perfect name for their newest son. However, with a nickname as adorable as "Tiger", I wanted to find a way to symbolize that for at least a couple of images in his session, and whipped up a little orange and black striped bonnet myself! *flexes knitting needles*
The bonnet ended up serving a double purpose, as it made the perfect little prop for a bumblebee themed photo, as well! As sweet as honey - I love it!
Mom & Dad definitely has their hands full with their spirited boys (I have to just giggle at one of the family photos - it's so adorable!) but the love for their little men is so clearly strong and unconditional. As a mom to three girls, I can only imagine what they're in for. Some days are definitely hard. But at the end of the day, when they're asleep in their beds and the house is finally quiet, I can't imagine my life to be any different and sometimes we just have to embrace the chaos. And it's not always chaos. Amidst the noise and the busy days, there are plenty of tender moments and treasurable memories. Parenthood seems to easy to understand, but until you experience yourself the depth of love you feel for your children is truly unfathomable. And your own children won't even understand it until it is their turn to welcome their own littles into the world.
My own kids are currently hanging off of my computer chair, asking me for treats and quarrelling over toys - but, even though I often feel the urge to lose my mind and often question my own sanity (let's be honest here!), life would be a heck-of-a-lot more lonely and boring without them around. These days are numbered and one day they won't be here to drive me up my finger-print-covered walls. The toys will be gone, the sounds will be silenced. The house will be clean, my task list empty. And I know so deeply, even though right now it feels like paradise, that my heart will ache to experience it all over again.
All in all, I absolutely loved working with this wonderful family. I thoroughly enjoyed shooting and working on these beautiful photographs, and I would love to see them all again in a year for an adorable little cake smash for little Tiyaan - maybe a little jungle theme with a tiger cake?! ;)
Here he is, everyone! Baby Tiyaan!
